We love the Wintersburg Team! This is the first time Wintersburg has sent out a team from their church and we are so blessed to have them. I’ve never heard such a loud group of Asian Americans, but I love it.
We just finished an Outreach in a Buddhist school close to ZOE. We haven’t been to this school yet, so it was really important to us that we represented God and ZOE well. The team did a great job with the kids … they did everything with excellence – their songs, dances, stories, dramas and craft. I love when teams engage with the kids. As soon as we arrived they were trying to talk to the kids, smiling, and taking pictures with them. I think that made the kids more excited and they opened their hearts and ears to hear what we came to say.
I walked around before the Outreach began and talked to some of the kids in Thai. It looked like they were really struggling to understand me but I knew that I was saying it correctly. I tried and tried again but no luck. Finally they asked me, “Are you speaking English or Thai?” Haha! I said Thai – “OOOOHHHHHH!” the said. I guess they thought I was speaking English to them and they were trying to figure out what I was trying to say, but as soon as they realized that I spoke and understood Thai – that was it! I had a group of kids around me talking my ear off! I don’t always like studying Thai twice a week – but it’s days and situations like this that I’m very grateful for it!
Oh, and did I mention that around 80 kids gave their lives to the Lord?!? I’m so proud of my team! Usually I preach the Gospel, but today I wanted to give 2 members of my KidMin team an opportunity to do it. Ying and SuChat did an outstanding job and I’m so glad that they did it. The Wintersburg Team and my KidMin team worked seamlessly together for a great harvest!
I’m looking forward to the next few days with the team. They have been such a blessing to all of us here at ZOE.
